Tyrant by Day: Saint by Night

Stephen (aka Stefan) A. Mitchell receives a high salary as administrator of Council House, a government financially-assisted apartment block in Seattle, yet spends most of his time running theatrical and pseudo-religious enterprises. In his role as administrator he practices neo-fascism while in his acting persona he portrays a saint. His hypocrisy boggles the mind when one examines his tyrannical behavior toward senior citizens. While practicing evil he pretends holiness. [Evil, Anonymity, and Social Tyranny]

Whited Sepulcher - Hypocrisy and Deceit

As a hypocrite, he probably exceeds his prowess as a pathological liar. On stage, he switches to his persona then prays piously. By day, he reverts to tyranny using court-ordered anonymity obtained by his directors. He despises those whom he deceives and has no self-respect when he dupes a board of seemingly educated and principled directors into condoning his evil practices. [Thespian Liar]

In the following statement, Stefan Mitchell exposes himself as a whited sepulcher - inwardly evil he outwardly professes virtue:

2004 is here and the year is starting off right. I was blessed by being asked to sing at Rev. Suzi Schadle's ordination ceremony at the Center for Spiritual Living, Eastside. This was one of the top ten Spiritual experiences of my life [the other nine probably relate to masturbation] .

Rev. Suzi's love for music made the whole experience magical. From her recorded flute prelude music, to the powerful processional with more ministers in their black robes than you can shake a stick at, it was a powerful evening in which we all felt that we became a part of something very precious. . . .

Currently I am finishing the lyrics to two songs. One is called I am here and the other, which has no title yet, is about learning to love enough to let go. Our plan is to have the new record out by June. If that is going to happen we better come up with a better name than Son of From Within. [Contra Cabal readers should email with their suggestions!]. Additionally I am negotiating with Exact Records to hammer out the details of a Christmas album entitled Captured by Christmas that should be out by October 2004.

Performances so far this year have me expanding outwards from Seattle. In March I will be performing at The Gathering in Chicago, Ill. There I will be exposed [its about time someone exposed him] to a whole group of new music directors and ministers who have never heard me sing. It will be great getting to meet new faces and adding new places to perform. I am also adding Santa Rosa, San Jose and Napa Valley to the schedule. . . .

Finally, for all of you who have been supporting me through purchasing From Within and your prayers -- thank you! There is no way I could do this without you.

You are a blessing to the World!

Stefan.

Reportedly, Stefan could not find a production company for his CD so he paid to have it published at a cost of $5,000.00. He now has boxes of disks stored at Council House that he cannot sell. However, he cuts his losses assiduously praising God by singing at the “church” for $75.00 a chirp.

Seemingly, mail-order ministers and other sycophants (some of them making money from his recordings) sing his praises and accent the hypocrisy. With a strange silence, the plaudits of Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum, Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation, (rabbi to some of Stefan’s directors) remain conspicuously absent from this outpouring of praise. [Hornet Nests]

Rev. Edward Viljoen, DD. Stefan Mitchell's From Within is an inspiring album. Not only is the musicianship excellent, but the message is refreshing for today's spiritually minded seekers evoking an atmosphere of reverence and prayerful contemplation.

Joanne Fabian. Stefan can stop a room from breathing [the air-conditioning switches itself off] when he sings. I cry when he sings because I am so full of awe at the beauty of God being expressed. I feel closer to God when Stefan sings than I do at any other time including prayer and meditation. That much God knows no bounds. It is truly a holy experience.

Rev. Mary Manin Morrissey. To say that Stefan Mitchell sings with heart, conviction, and charisma is an understatement. I am always moved by his singing - his music is deep ministry.

Rev. Edwene Gaines. Stefan's voice touches the soul, lifts the heart, stirs the faith, and fills us with joy.

Rev. Max Lafser, Unity of Bellevue. It is such a blessing to write words of Support for Stefan's CD. The talent, strength and beauty that pours forth through the music is deeply moving. The production, From Within incorporates the musical talents of a number of inspired beings. I have played the CD for a couple of weeks almost daily and still feel Stefan's fresh approach to the words and the melodies as if listening for the first time. May this CD move mountains and bring joy to every listener.

Eric O'del, Music Ministry Director, Center for Spiritual Living, Seattle. Stefan's glorious voice and heart-opening passion will leave you spellbound - and uplifted. His combination of spiritual and musical gifts is truly one in a million.

Susan Bardsley. What greater pleasure is there for a composer than to have a singer pour his heart and soul into one of her songs? And I have that great pleasure often with Stefan Mitchell. His singing immediately conveys his emotions, or the heart of the song, to the listener, thereby allowing both the singer and the listener a vibrant and fulfilling emotional experience. Not to mention, a beautiful aural experience!

Rev. Dr. Kathianne Lewis, Senior Minister, Center for Spiritual Living, Seattle. I love the music of Stefan Mitchell. He's one of my very favorite singers. Not only does he have a great voice, a great talent, but a huge heart that he shares with everyone. You can't listen to Stefan sing without being touched at a deep level.

Garnett Hundley. Stefan opens the heart with his voice, with his phrasing and expression; opening the heart to allow the mind to relax, to take in the deeper sense of connection, of ONEness that we all crave. Stefan has a quality of voice and of Self that melts the every-day and lifts the spirit.. a style that connects the generations. He is a heart-felt gift. He has a heart-felt gift.

Rev. Rodney Romney. Dear Stefan, I thoroughly appreciate every moment of your new CD, particularly your choice of selections and the clear and wonderful clarity of your voice. What a gift you have been given. Your sensitivity in choosing those particular pieces is a reflection of your own spiritual direction, and it will resonate with many who want to hear a more inclusive and loving approach to the spiritual life. The clear and resonant quality of your voice reflects the sincerity of your soul and offers a compelling channel for listeners to move into their own inner being, the place where God ultimately meets all of us. It is clear to me that this gift you offer has come From Within. Blessings,

Tom Evans, Tom Evans Marketing. Multi-talented and genuine, exceptionally creative and passionate - that's Stefan Mitchell.
